The Diving Museum is collaborating with The Provincial Society (www.provincialsociety.org) and the Bayside Café in Stokes Bay to bring you a vintage family adventure for the whole family.
You wait all year for a great deal and then three come along at once!
1. A free ride on a heritage bus
2. Reduced entry to The Diving Museum (normally £3 and £2 for adults and seniors/kids respectively)
3. A half price drink at the Bayside Café which is right on the beach beside the museum.
Now that really is a great deal!
Tours start from Gosport Bus Station at 12 noon and 2pm.
Return journeys from the Diving Museum are at 2.11pm. and 3.30pm.
Look out for the forty-six year-old single decker bus in the emerald green and cream livery which was carried by Provincial buses and trams since the late 1800s. The bus was new to the Gosport and Fareham Omnibus Company in 1972 and was based at Hoeford Depot until 1984. For the next eleven years she was used by the Portsmouth-based Royal Marine Volunteer Cadet Corps before being purchased for preservation by the current owner (and driver). The bus is a private historic vehicle and the owner/driver is kindly inviting us to enjoy a free tour on his bus on this special occasion.
The bus will depart from Gosport bus station stopping off right outside The Diving Museum in Stokes Bay. Our guides will be delighted to give you a tour of the museum. After spending time exploring Gosport’s diving heritage, you can present your ticket at the Bayside Café next door in exchange for a half price discount on a cuppa. You may even have time to dip your toes in the Solent before returning to the bus stop to catch the same bus back to Gosport bus station.
Bring the family, jump aboard and enjoy a wonderful vintage summer Sunday in Gosport. We look forward to welcoming you!
Tickets can be purchased from The Diving Museum (open weekends 11am – 4pm) or from
The Tourist Information Centre at the Gosport bus station. 023 9252 2944
Please note: the Tourist Information Centre is closed on Sundays so you will need to buy your ticket before Sunday 19th.
