Underwater 2019 is an exhibition of contemporary art by local artists.
All the pieces in the exhibition reflect the concept ‘underwater’ and range from paint and sculpture to video and textiles.
Unusually, we display the artwork amongst the museum’s artefacts.

Our visitors are encouraged to vote for their favourite piece.
The artist whose work attracts the most votes will win a prize which will be awarded at 4pm on Monday 27th May.

Most of the pieces on display are also available to be purchased. It is a wonderful opportunity not only to support our local artists but also to buy an affordable masterpiece to take home.

‘Underwater’  is one of our most popular annual events. It is on for only three days. We hope to see you there.

(A note for artists. You are invited to enter up to two pieces into the exhibition. Further details can be found at our parent organisation’s web site: Historical Diving Society).
