Underwater 2023 is an exhibition of contemporary art inspired by ‘Impressions of the Diving Museum’. All forms of media are represented including paint and sculpture to video and textiles.
Unusually, the artwork is displayed amongst the museum’s artefacts.
All of the pieces on display are also available to be purchased. It is a wonderful opportunity not only to support our local artists but also to buy an affordable masterpiece to take home.
‘Underwater’ is one of our most popular annual events. It is on for only two days. We hope to see you there.
There is no extra fee to see the exhibition – normal museum entry fees apply.

INFORMATION FOR ARTISTS
You are invited to enter up to two pieces into the exhibition.
THE THEME this year is ‘Impressions of the Diving Museum’s artefacts or building’.
ART GENRE We invite you to explore a wide range of exciting art genres, such as Fauvism, Cubism, Abstract, Impressionism etc or a mix of genres. What fun!
MEDIUM Work can be in any medium: oils, watercolours, montage, textiles, photographs, computer generated etc. It can include sculpture and 3D Assemblage. Short films and audio (e.g. spoken poem, music) can also be submitted but with a duration limited to no longer than 2mins.
COST There is NO COST for your submission, but a 10% commission on your sales will go to the Diving Museum. All work must be for sale.
DELIVER entries to the Museum on the preceding weekend Sat 24th and Sun 25th June between the hours of 12 noon and 3pm, when the museum is open.
