We’ve made the Shortlist!
The Diving Museum, Gosport has been shortlisted for a national Fantastic for Families Award for outstanding contribution to arts and culture for families in the category of Best Age-Friendly Welcome. Voted for by a panel of expert judges from the creative sector, awards recognise the outstanding events that took place during 2018 and the exemplary family-friendly organisations and venues that welcomed families.
We pride ourselves on making sure that our visitors receive a warm welcome at the museum. No matter what their age, or knowledge of diving, there is something to amuse, entertain, and/or inform every generation in the museum. Some of our activities for the very young are enjoyed just as much by their parents and grandparents. We sometimes wonder who is having the most fun!
Our volunteers enjoy giving every visitor personal attention. From toddlers and teens to grands and great-grands, we offer help and information at an age-appropriate level and are proud to see many of our visitors return with family and friends.
So we are chuffed to be shortlisted for the Age-Friendly Welcome Award.
Awards have been given by The Family Arts Campaign, the national initiative funded by Arts Council
England to connect families with cultural opportunities. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in
Liverpool on 11th February 2019.
